Clayton Hutson is a sound engineer who works closely with celebrated musicians across the globe. He took up this career path in Nashville after graduating from college with a degree in theater designs. His expertise in audio engineering has earned him various positions in live music companies and later became a project manager.
After mastering the trade, he decided to establish his own brand that deals with designing, planning and organizing for concerts. Most of his projects involve Rock music and has offered technical and managerial services to many artists such as Kid Rock, Pink, and Guns N’ Roses.
He played a major role in Garbage’s world tour called “Bleed Like Me” which served many of their fans across Europe, North America, and Australia. Clayton served as the monitoring engineer. Additionally, he’s had a hand in One Republic’s Honda Civil Tour that covered America and Asia.
In an interview featured on Ideamensch.com, Clayton Hutson shares some inspirations and day-to-day activities that drive his career ambitions.
Hutson explains that the idea of starting his own company was due to the vast experience he has had in the tour management and live entertainment. He has perfected my skills in all aspects and when the economic recession had a toll on businesses, he decided to establish his own company.
Creativity plays a huge part in Clayton’s career, and he brings life to his ideas by envisioning the stage design, sound arrangement, and light layout. It is upon this that he aspires to create a grander and better vision. He practically works on compelling CAD designs, combining the skill with creativity to ensure each equipment can be carried through the doors and into the stadium.
One trend that has truly excited Clayton in his niche is the technological advancements happening in the live entertainment scene. He thinks that liver video projection is becoming something of the past and consumers need to be wowed with innovative technological devices to serve them better.
One fact that Clayton thinks is unknown to many is that many people employ an HR approach when dealing with other persons because of their political rationale at the expense of the talented individual who can have the job completed. Good leadership upholds talent. Besides, talents are inborn and can’t be instilled in a person.
One advice he’d like young entrepreneurs to remember is to stay honest to themselves and when dealing with others and put family welfare first.
